Create album subfolders / organize albums

It seems to be a features that is highly requested and I'm very
disappointed that it's not in the latest release. I have 3 children and I take pictures of all their games and post them up on the web for all the players/parents to see. Currently I can't organize them at all.
All the parents get very confused which folders to look at since all 3 kids games are grouped together times the numbers of games.
At the end of the season there are 3x8=24 games all meshed together.

show filenames under each photo in album view
allow the user to be able to select "SHOW FILE NAMES" for an entire given album, and even make this a default option if so desired for ALL albums.

For example, I would love it if my parents and siblings could just log in and have access to all of my photos without me having to send an invite every time I get home from a cool photo experience.

loop the embedded slideshow
at the moment you can't loop the embedded slideshow on your own website.

set the default speed for album slideshows
set the default speed for album slideshows as a global setting, which can then be overridden on a per album basis.
I want to send people a link to my web album (not embed the slideshow), and I need the default slideshow setting to be that the viewer advances the show manually. The current default is three seconds, which is way, way too fast. The best I can do is tell people to hit pause, but that's inferior because although people are willing to manually advance they are less willing to have to pause every slide.

improved comments handling
a) view all my comments on other people's albums
b) delete other people's comments from the "view all" window, as opposed to one-by-one on each photo- Again, would save LOTS OF TIME.
c) be able to disable the comments function
d) approve comments before they are displayed (added by admin from another merged idea)

More automatic sort options

I wish there were more options to automatically sort photos in Picasa web albums (currently the only options are by date and filename).

Delegate face tag and/or other editing permissions
Ability to give certain users the right to face-tag our photos.

It would be great if the Public vs Unlisted setting was changed to the individual photo level instead of being at full album level.
There are often photos in an album I would like to keep private, and to create a duplicate folder for the photos I want to make public seems like an unnecessary effort and waste of server space.

Add more user preferences
These are the ones suggested so far:-
* show captions on organize photos view
* show captions during slideshow
* display view count under each thumbnail in album view
* change/set the background colour from current white (this is very popular)
* Set default option for move/copy photos to another album between an existing one / new albumSettings to hide the following for viewers (not the owner)
* hide camera type
* hide date & time
* hide view count

Exclude owner from view counter
The general view in this thread http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Picasa/thread?tid=5d432035b748d388&hl=en is that the view counter should ignore views by the album owner.

let us enter pre-1970 dates

I just scanned a bunch of family photos and Picasa web albums is throwing a fit when I try to set the date on an album to 1965. Boo!328 votes -

Map of all photo locations
It would be great to have a map with little thumbnail pics like you get in google maps generated from the location data set on all photos in my entire collection.

choose whether tagged person is added as a gmail contact
it doesn't seem to make sense for dead people, children, or yourself to have contacts in Gmail
As you're tagging, 'it' would have to be smart enough know to that each time you tag 'Vera,' Vera isn't added to your contacts after the first time you say 'No.' Then down the line, if you happen to change your mind about a tag, you'd be able to add the name back into your contacts

disable album update email notifications to those I have shared my albums with or make it opt-in
At the moment only the recipients can unsubscribe from the notifications.
Lots of people would like to the album owner to be able control who these updates go out to.
Or at least make so that people have to opt-in to update notifications

It would be really useful if one could update information for a bunch of pictures at once.

It used to be possible to list unnamed faces in PWA but for some reason this feature was removed. Please bring back this feature

use color management
when I upload photographs to a Picasa album, then display it using a color managed browser (Safari on a Mac), it appears
on my screen with the wrong gamma (too dark and saturated). I believe this means that you must strip out the ICC profile (typically sRGB) when you recompress the photograph.
It may be a lot of effort to upgrade Picasa to be color managed, but it shouldn't be hard to just copy whatever color profile you find in the uploaded file into the recompressed file.from thread http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Picasa/thread?tid=7feb33e1393f5181&hl=en by Marc Levoy

Advanced photo search

add the facility to refine the search results (search within the results)
for example type a persons name
then type a tag to narrow it down furtheror other searches
date range uploaded
date range created
images with no tags
photos containing certain people tags & add a group facility so we can group people together like "family", "children", "Work", "football club" etcand complex searches like
